Seems incredible that its October, my plans to keep a regular log of our visits went out the window. I never was much good at keeping a diary. Must try harder.
So i may not have journaled my visits but i did get a fair bit done. I managed to get two whole (separate) weeks up at the cottages as well as the usual weekend trips.
The gardens kept me busy. Work has progressed in changing the lay out of the garden in n0 10 and I am beginning to see the master plan come to life. But the two front and two back gardens to keep up on the cottages we holiday let have to take priority.
The newly landscaped back garden at 8 has proved successful in lowering maintenance. and it looks fab too. Just need to finish the top level paving by the gate and build a couple of planter. That will hopefully happen next spring.
Major job this autumn has been the replacement of the oil tank in no 8. a non glam but necessary job. Just as the season comes to an end we had a breakdown with the boiler not producing hot water. Luckily we had understanding guests and its back up and running now although we need to get a new cold water feed to prevent this happening again.
It was also pointed out that the single beds in 8 were a bit uncomfortable. The newish mattress had not lasted well 9would have expected better from John Lewis) so were replaced we take a good night sleep at the cottages seriously.
Only minor jobs on this year but hope to make back garden easier to maintain with some work in the Spring.
Thats it in a nutshell. Thanks to all our wonderful guests we have loved having you.
